Dr. Vengellur received BSc. in Agriculture from Kerala Agricultural University, MSc. from GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology and earned Ph.D. in Genetics from Michigan State University. He did his doctoral and postdoctoral training under Dr. John Lapres at the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Michigan State University. His research interests include elucidation of molecular signaling pathways in development and disease, such as cancer, ischemia, and neurodegenerative diseases; and the effect of environmental contaminants and other toxicants on these pathways. He is also interested in the development of therapeutics and diagnostic tools including medical devices for various medical health problems such as sepsis, cancer and neurodegenerative diseases.
