BRIEF BIO
Dr. Sunil P.S., former Head of the Dept. of Marine Geology & Geophysics, CUSAT, currently serves as a Professor and Chairman of the Board of Studies of the same Department. He has done his M.Sc. (Tech.) and Ph.D. in Marine Geophysics from CUSAT, and Post-Doc in Tectonic-Geodesy from the Nevada Geodetic Laboratory, University of Nevada, USA. He began his career and worked as a Scientist and Research Professor respectively at the Indian Institute of Geomagnetism, Mumbai from 2000-2018. During 2009 and 2011, he was a visiting Scientist at Kyoto University, Japan, and University of Nevada, USA respectively. He is a recipient of JSPS Exchange Program Fellowship by Kyoto University, Japan, and BOYSCAST Fellowship by Govt. of India. He has been a Member of the Indian Antarctic Expedition twice and the Arctic Expedition four times. He is also the UGC's National Level Subject Matter Expert Committee Member and an Executive Committee Member of the Indian Geophysical Union (IGU).
