BRIEF BIO
Prof. (Dr.) Sunil P.S. currently serves as the HoD & BoS Chairman of the Dept. of Marine Geology & Geophysics, CUSAT. He has done his M.Sc. (Tech.) and Ph.D. in Marine Geophysics from CUSAT, and Post-Doc in Tectonic Geodesy from University of Nevada, USA. He worked as a Scientist at the Indian Institute of Geomagnetism (IIG), Mumbai from 2000-2018. During 2009, 2011 & 2024, he was a visiting Scientist/Faculty at Kyoto University, Japan, University of Nevada, USA and Universidad Católica del Norte, Chile respectively. He is a recipient of Anni Talwani Memorial Prize by Indian Geophysical Union (IGU); JSPS Exchange Program Fellowship by Kyoto University, Japan; BOYSCAST Fellowship and RUSA Faculty Exchange Grant by Govt. of India. He has been a Member of the Indian Antarctic and Antarctic Expeditions multiple times. He is also the Member - IIG's Governing Council; Subject Expert - UGC's National Level Committee; Advisor - UPSC Board Examination and Executive Committee Member - IGU.
