BRIEF BIO
Dr. K. S. Beena is Dean Faculty of Engineering and Professor, in Civil Engineering at Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kochi, India. Her doctoral degree in Civil Engineering was awarded in 1994, from II T, Madras. She has been actively involved in research and teaching since 1999 in CUSAT. She had completed 3 major sponsored projects worth around Rs. 20 lakhs and having a running project on liquefaction studies costing 26. 74 lakhs. Due to the committed research work, she could produce 8 PhDs and supervision of 6 candidates are going on. As a result of the achievements, she had been awarded with the prestigious Endeavour Research Fellowship from Government of Australia to visit and pursue research in the area of Transport Geotechnics at University of Wollongong during 2015, and, as an Alumini, has been selected as an Ambassador for the Australian Awards during 2017. She has been serving as a Nominated Governing Body Member of N C R M, Govt. of Kerala.
