BRIEF BIO
Dr. Ratheesh Kumar R.T. serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Marine Geology and Geophysics since 2018. He received his B.Sc. degree in Geology from S.N. College Chempazhanthy (Kerala University), M.Sc. degree in Geology from V.O. Chidambaram College Tuticorin (M.S. University, Thirunelveli), and Ph.D. degree in solid-earth geophysics from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur. He worked as ‘Centenary Postdoctoral Fellow’ at IISc Bangalore (2013-2016), ‘Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Postdoctoral Fellow’ at Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography, China (2016-2018), and recently he received ‘NASA Postdoctoral Scholarship’ at the University of Kentucky, USA (2019-2021). His research bridges the interface between Geophysics and Petrology that primarily focuses on the evolution of lithospheric structures and geological provinces.
