BRIEF BIO
Dr. Suja Purushothaman Devipriya joined the School of Environmental Studies in 2019. Before joining CUSAT, she served as Assistant Professor in the Department of Ecology and Environmental Sciences, Pondicherry (Central) University for a decade. She Specializes in Environmental photocatalysis, Bioremediation, Pollution treatment technologies, Microplastics and Ecological Studies. She has 15+ years of experience in teaching Industrial Ecology, Environmental monitoring and analysis, Environmental Pollution, Natural resource management, Ecology & Biodiversity and conservation. Her current research involves different aspects of microplastic pollution using various tools and techniques to monitor and provide solutions to global microplastic problem. The study includes Microplastics interactions and toxicity, Atmospheric microplastic pollution, Biodegradation of plastics,, Machine learning based approaches for microplastic monitoring, Microplastic regulation and policies.
