BRIEF BIO
Associate Professor in the Department of Physics, Cochin University of Science & Technology (2019 - ); Visiting Fellow (1998-1999):at the Department of Nuclear and Atomic Physics, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai where the thrust area of research RCI was involved in was the development of x-ray sources of sub-picosecond duration suitable for phase contrast imaging of biological samples. University of Strathclyde (2000-2011), Glasgow, UK: Lead role in the design and construction of a 10 meters long laser wakefield MeV electron accelerator beamline and the vacuum delivery system for TW femtosecond laser pulse. Developed ultrashort VUV, x- and gamma- ray sources for imaging applications using TW laser system at Strathclyde and Petawatt laser system at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Didcot, London. Studied ultrashort MeV electron beam interaction with malignant tissue to help treatment of cancer. Has more than 60 international publications, an H-index of 25.
