Prof. (Dr.)Deepa G. Nair has acquired her PhD from TU Delft, Netherlands in the year 2006 on the topic ‘Sustainable Affordable Housing for the poor in Kerala’. Her research interests include Sustainable construction and green buildings. Her association with Nirmithi Kendra, a voluntary organization promoting cost effective and environment friendly construction techniques in Kerala on the early years of her career has become an inspiration of her research interests in the areas of affordable housing and appropriate technologies. She is currently engaged in the research on application of waste materials as pozzolana and geopolymers. Prof. Deepa G Nair is also a member of the subcommittee for formulating the Housing Policy for Government of Kerala. She is currently holding other responsibilities in the University such as the Presiding officer- ICC, Coordinator - Virtual Centre for Advanced Research in Engineering & technology and University coordinator for Universal Human Values.
