BRIEF BIO
Dr. Swapna P. Antony did her post-graduation in Marine Biology (2004) and received her Ph.D. in Marine Biotechnology (2012) from Cochin University of Science and Technology. Her doctoral research focused on molecular characterization and gene expression profiling of antimicrobial peptides in penaeid shrimps. Subsequently she joined as UGC-Kothari Post-Doctoral Fellow at National Centre for Aquatic Animal Health, where her work encompassed heterologous expression of vitellogenin subunit of P.monodon for developing monoclonal antibodies and ELISA kit. After that she joined the National Centre for Aquatic Animal Health, CUSAT as DST-INSPIRE Faculty in Feb, 2013. In Aug, 2015, she joined as Assistant Professor in Fish Pathology at the Dept. of Aquatic Animal Health Management, Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies. At present she is working as Assistant Professor in Aquaculture in the Dept. of Marine Biology, Microbiology & Biochemistry, CUSAT.
