He graduated from Kerala University, post-graduation in Industrial fisheries from CUSAT and Ph. D. from ICAR-Central Institute of Fisheries Technology, Cochin. Five years of UG teaching & administrative experience from CIFNET, Govt of India; three years of industry experience in seafood processing; Product development and quality assurance from various seafood processing industries in India; Chitin-Chitosan manufacturing companies in India and Indonesia. One year post-doctoral expertise in management & commercialization of technologies of 22 ICAR- Agriculture, Horticulture, Crop Science and Fisheries institutes in south India. Recipient of International award from World Wide Fund (WWF) for Nature, USA in 2005 and Best Scientific Paper award from Society of Fisheries Technologists, India in 2012. He joined the CUSAT service in 2015. He is a member of the Cochin University Senate, academic council, and academic committee of CUSAT.
