Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) provides financial assistance to full-
time students and research scholars of its departments, schools, and centres for presenting
research papers at conferences held abroad to encourage international academic
participation and enhance global exposure.
Objective
The scheme aims to support students whose research papers have been accepted for
presentation in international conferences, seminars, or workshops organised by reputed
foreign universities or professional societies of high academic standing. It enables them to
share their research globally and gain valuable academic and cultural experience.
Eligibility and Scope
• Applicable only to full-time students and full-time research scholars of CUSAT.
• Assistance is provided only to the presenting author of the accepted paper.
• The event must be organized by a foreign university, institution, or society of
recognized reputation.
• The scheme excludes training programmes, summer/winter schools, or short-term
courses.
• A candidate can avail this assistance only once during the current course of study.
Financial Support
• The University provides up to 75% of the total expenses related to registration fees
and travel, including economy-class air travel.
Application Process
Applications must be forwarded through proper channels:
• For PhD scholars: through the Research Guide and the Head of Department.
• For other students: through the Head of Department.
Applications must include:
• A copy of the acceptance/invitation letter from the organisers.
• The brochure and details of the programme and organising institution.
Selection Process
• The number of beneficiaries in a year depends on the annual allocation made by the
University.
• If applications exceed available funding, preference is given in the following order:
1. Research scholars.
2. Number of papers published in peer-reviewed journals with impact factor.
3. Number of papers published in peer-reviewed journals without impact factor.
4. Number of papers presented in international/national conferences.
