A short-term Upskilling Internship Training Programme is implemented at CUSAT as part
of its commitment to enhancing students’ employability, skill development, and industry
readiness. The initiative aligns with the University’s vision to bridge the gap between
academic learning and industry requirements by integrating practical exposure and hands-on
training into higher education.
The programme focuses on skill enhancement, applied learning, and professional
development for students through short-term, intensive training sessions and internship
opportunities. It is designed to provide participants with an understanding of real-world
applications of their academic knowledge, thereby preparing them to meet emerging
challenges in diverse professional domains.

The Scheme
• This is a fee-based, full-time internship programme offered by the academic
departments
• or centres of the University. The primary focus is on practical training to
enhance
• participants technical competencies, research aptitude, and job readiness.
• Each participant will be assigned a faculty guide.
• Departments may also engage PhD scholars to support the training.
• Departments are free to design and offer the programme individually or in
collaboration with other departments.
Programme content should prioritize hands-on sessions and real-world
applications.

Duration : 1 to 3 months (Full-time)
Eligibility : Graduates / Postgraduates
Offered by : University Teaching Departments / Centres
Number of Seats : As decided by the individual departments
Selection Process : Based on previous academic performance and interview
Programme Content : Designed by the coordinating department(s) with emphasis on practical training
Fees : ₹6,000/- per participant
Certification : Certificate issued by the Head of the Department upon successful completion
Selection Procedure
The Department Council will conduct the selection process and manage all related
activities. The programme shall be notified by the department under intimation to the
University. The department will collect the fees and ensure proper distribution as per
the guidelines.
